My husband and I have relocated our "farm" on our own patch of land in the beautiful foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. We are so excited to be a part of a new community in Burke County, NC. We celebrated our 14th wedding anniversary in our new home. (Nov-2024)

Our original adopted rooster "Zeus" (our Rhode Island Red sweet boy) died due to an injury. He is buried on the property now. He is very missed by his hens and myself. I could always count on Zeus to be the attentive watcher of the flock.

Prior to March 9, 2023 I was talking to my boss about raising chickens. He offered to purchase three from the "chicken store" and bring them to work. I agreed to pay him back and take them home to raise. So, on March 9th, I became a chicken mama to three of the littlest, cutest, sweetest baby pullets ever!!.
